Suggested Itinerary
 
Day 1                     Arrival in Muscat
Arrival at Muscat International airport on board IGO 6E85@0115Hrs on 24Jan. our representative will meet you before Immigration and assist you with immigration formalities. Later you will be transferred to your hotel in a deluxe coach. Mineral water, dates & kahwa will be provided in the coach. Arrive at the hotel and check in.

Day 2                     Half Day Muscat city tour “Mystic Muscat” (4hours approx.)
Breakfast at the hotel. At 0900Hrs Travel Ahead representative will meet you in the lobby of the hotel and you start the city tour in Muscat, visit Grand Mosque (open daily for visitors between 0800 –1100 Hrs, except Fridays/holidays) Dress code – Women should wear attire covering their arms and legs. Women should cover their heads with scarf). Then visit the Fish and vegetable markets in Muttrah. Feel free to mingle with the crowd. Visit the Muttrah Souk where you will find a mix of old and new. Sights, sounds and fragrances are in abundance.  You then drive past the Corniche and to the capital area before we take a photo stop at the Sultan’s Palace flanked by the 16th Century Portuguese forts of Jalali and Mirani. You visit Bait Al Zubair Museum for a fine display of Omani culture and history. Photo stop at Al Bustan palace round about. Lunch at a local restaurant and later we drop you off at your hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure at own activities.

Day 3                     Nizwa / Bahla / Jabrin Fort (Day Trip) – “Inspiring Interior” (8 hours approx.)
Breakfast at the hotel. A journey to the past through the Sumail Gap that divides the Western and Eastern Hajars. You reach Nizwa, the old capital of the Julunda dynasty. Visit the huge round fort (photo stop) built by the Yaruba dynasty. Visit the spice souq and the handicraft souq. After visiting the souq and the fort, you move to Bahla with the huge loam fort. Bahla is also known as the pottery capital of Oman. Because of its cultural value, Bahla is placed in the UNESCO’s list of heritage monuments. Lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch we visit Jabrin castle, where you will find one of the most magnificent castles of Oman with its painted ceiling, dungeons, and hidden passages. Return to Muscat

Day 4                     Departure Muscat – Arrival & Half Day Salalah city tour
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to Muscat Airport to board your domestic flight WY905 @ 0715Hrs to Salalah.
Arrive in Salalah at 0900Hrs and be transferred to Intercity Hotel. Check-in at the hotel.
In the afternoon you will be picked up from the hotel at 1300Hrs start the half day Salalah city tour. Stop at a local restaurant for lunch. This tour will give you a variety of old and modern culture of the region. We drive through the greenery of coconuts, Banana and Papaya plantations. Visit the Al Baleed museum of the Frankincense land. There is a large archaeological site that you can stoll through, ancient city of Zufar and the museum hosts an impressive collection about the archaeological and maritime history of Oman In the Heritage Souk, you can find different types of Omani crafts and incense burners. Visit of the New Souk will give you an exact view of the Arabian market. Drive to the Gold souk offers modern and olden style Dhofari ornaments. On the way to Al Haffa, you can see some typical Dhofari houses with caravan windows and doors. Walking past the Sultan’s residential palace Al Husn, reaches to the Old Souk where Frankincense, Dhofari traditional clothes and cosmetics are available.
In evening return back to the hotel for dinner & overnight.

Day 5                     Full Day Tour – Salalah East & West Combination
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive towards east. We pass the Royal Farm and Marmura Palace on the way to Taqa, the village is famed for Sardines and Fertilizers. Here you can see an interesting castle. East of Taqa lies the ruins of Sumhurum (KhorRori), where the legendary palace of Queen Sheba is believed to have been. KhorRori was also a port for Frankincense trade. A drive along the coastal road takes you to the old city of Arabian horses and Slave trade, Mirbat. After a photo stop at Bin Ali Mosque, built in the 14th century, visit Mirbat Castle and the Old Merchant Houses, which is similar to Yemeni architecture with its carved doors and windows. Returning to Salalah, we continue through the home of Jebalis with their camel and cattle herds. At the foot of the Qara mountains, we reach a natural spring of Ain Razat which is a beautiful park surrounded by hills.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch drive across the Qara mountains where you can see the real beauty of Dhofar mountains. The tour continues towards Mughsayl – pass by Frankincense trees – Stop and smell the aroma of the holy incense and reach the magnificent sandy beach outlined by sculptured cliffs and Blow holes, where plumes of water can reach a height of 30m or more. The view up the coast where the mountains drop in to the sea is magnificent. Visit Mughsayl and Salalah Bird sanctuaries.  In evening return back to the hotel.

Day 6                     Departure Salalah + Arrival & Departure Muscat
Breakfast at the hotel. You will then be transferred to Salalah airport to board your flight WY904 @ 1135Hrs to Muscat. On arrival in Muscat at 1320Hrs you will be transferred to Majan Continental Hotel and check in for day use 4.5Hrs approximately.
Lunch at the hotel.
At 1825Hrs you will be transferred to Muscat International Airport to board IGO 6E86@2055Hrs to your final destination. Return back to your home with fond memories of Oman.
Meals included: Breakfast & lunch at Majan Continental Hotel.
